credit card fees

Dear clients, a client called and said she has 2 charges from us for the same amount. I called merchant service and I found out that every time your credit card is swiped weather the transaction goes thru or not that amount is being put on hold for up to 10 days and after 10 days the hold comes off and your funds are available again. This is not good since, sometimes people swipe that card 2, 3,or more times freezing up your funds. Cash is best but if you have to use a credit card make sure it only gets swiped once.

And if you are a business owner that takes credit cards you get charged all the fee for swiping the card every time.

I have informed all my staff that if they swipe the credit card once and it doesn't go thru that they need to call merchant service to have them do the corrections.
